The next day, Vanessa went out to get food and other necessities for around the house, so Vince decided to go wander around the deserted town we called home. The next morning, I woke up around 11:00 and Vanessa was already up and was waiting for me. She told me to eat something and then we’d drive back out to the house we’d fixed up. It’s hard to explain how frustrating it is to watch your body do all these things and hear your voice say all these things and not be able to do anything about it. That week or so that control cycled through the others was so difficult. I wanted so badly to step in and help, but I couldn’t. It’s just so… painful.
